Money Motion needs you

28 Jun 2010

Several ALTER members attended a seminar organised by the Coalition for Economic Justice last week, which aimed to explore common ground between campaigners on Money Reform and Land (Tax) Reform. A full report will shortly appear on the CEJ website.

In the same week, a young Lib Dem activist, not yet member of ALTER, launched The Bank of England Act website, calling for radical reform of banking - going well beyond Coalition Government plans. Ben Dyson has attracted considerable support for stronger measures than the Bank Tax announced in the Budget.

ALTER Executive Committee member and candidate for Hexham in the general election Andrew Duffield is seeking signatures for a Motion on Money Reform to be debated at this Autumn's Lib Dem Federal Conference. Read the motion and, if you are a voting rep at Conference and think it deserves debate, please send Andrew details (Local Party name and your name and membership number) by 11am this Wednesday 30th June - which is the deadline for submitting motions
