ALTER pushes for LVT promise in manifesto

ALTER is hoping to have the following amendment included in the Manifesto debate at the March Spring Conference in Liverpool. The amendement has been submitted by Tony Vickers. Come and support us at the debate if you are attending the conference.

Proposed ALTER Amendment to Motion F6 at Liverpool Spring Conference

Insert new paragraph 3 at line 55, and re-number accordingly:

3. Shift the overall burden of taxation from jobs and wealth creation by:

a) Reforming Business Rates with a site-value-only levy, and tasking the

Land Registry with registering the ownership of all land in the UK.

b) Working towards a form of Land Value Tax which would progressively

replace other property taxes.

c) Combating the growing inequality of income and wealth in our society
